Lesson 2:

Features of Image Editors

There are different features of Image editors and these are;

1) Selection
         It is a method of selecting some parts in a picture without affecting the original image. There are different types of selecting a part of an image; Marquee tool, Lasso tool, and Magic wand tool.



2) Layers
         It is an analogous sheets of transparent acetate that is stacked on top of each other, each capable of being individually altered, positioned and blended with another layer without affecting any of the elements in another layer.



3) Image Size
         It is the process of resizing an image, it is often called image scaling, making them larger or smaller in size.




4) Cropping
         It is a method in which you create a new image by selecting a desired rectangular portion from the image, discarding the unwanted part of the image.




5) Cloning
         It uses the current brush to copy from an image to repair problem areas in digital photos.


6) Image Orientation
        It alters an image through rotating it in any direction and to any degree. Images can also be horizontally or vertically flipped.
